I'm honoured to be publishing my mother's inspirational book. I have always admired and been influenced by her creativity, so it is my delight to bring one of her creations to life and make it available for the world.

    about the book

As a member of the Parkman branch of the Saskatchewan Women’s Institute (SWI) in the early 1980s, I was asked by my club to prepare a presentation for an upcoming District Rally on the theme, “Refuse to Stand Still.” I am grateful for my club’s request, as it resulted in this poem, which has received a few tweaks since being dusted off. Born to Climb became the title and the subtitle, Refuse to Stand Still.

    about the AUTHOR

Betty Taylor is the mother of five adult children, who have inspired much of her writing.

Growing up in a musical household, singing and songwriting were a natural outcome. After becoming empty nesters, she and her two younger sisters sang together as Designer Genes, recording a CD during that special time.

Betty and her husband, Martin, have journeyed through farming and beekeeping, children’s ministry, church planting, and camp management. In retirement, they moved to Betty’s hometown to support her parents, settling into an old convent that’s served many purposes from fostering teens to hosting international renters.

Now they’re returning to Martin’s roots, embracing a new season filled with reconnections, new friendships, and time for Betty to focus on her writing.
